The Skip Barber Racing School INDYCAR Academy

Date: November 6th - 8th

The winner of the shootout competition will receive a sponsored ride in either the 2013 summer or winter Skip Barber Regional Race Series presented by Mazda, with the opportunity to climb the Mazda Road to Indy ladder to the IZOD IndyCar Series.

He participated in the Skip Barber Formula Car Racing School after visiting IZOD IndyCar Series races last summer.
The Skip Barber Racing School, which was named the Official Racing School of the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Mazda Road to Indy, has trained and developed racing talent for almost four decades.

How does the INDYCAR Academy Shootout work?
The Shootout is limited to 33 participants. All accepted entrants must meet the requirements above. All Shootout sessions are conducted in equally prepared Formula Skip Barber race cars, set up as they are used in our Race Series and racing schools. Preparation is vital, so entrants are allowed to enroll in Skip Barber Racing School Advanced Activities programs prior to the Shootout, but can only participate in a maximum of 6 additional days to remain eligible for this event.

Driver preparation and sponsor relations training are also including during the event. During the three days, drivers are evaluated for not only their on-track speed and consistency but also how they receive and apply feedback and perform off-track.
Even if you don't win a scholarship, you will come away from the INDYCAR Academy with an incredibly valuable experience. You'll learn what it really takes to be fast in a race car.
“Skip Barber Racing School is committed to continuing to be the launching pad for many of the world’s top drivers and the Skip Barber Racing School INDYCAR Academy is another tremendous opportunity to discover those drivers who will be the next generation of the best of the best,” said Michael Culver, CEO, Skip Barber Racing School.
